Details
The artwork consists of a group of abstract, white chess pieces set against a black background. Each piece features a minimalist, geometric design, lending them a modern, sculptural aesthetic. The shapes are smooth and simplified, with distinctive elements such as a spiral structure integrated into the rook, rounded forms suggesting the bishop and queen, and angular, polygonal features outlining the king and knight. The pieces retain their recognizable roles in the chess set but are reinterpreted through an artistic lens that emphasizes form and texture over traditional detail. Printed in resin the king stands nearly 10 inches tall, and the pieces are hand-sanded to a fine finish by the artist.
